Since 2005, BIOMET has developed expertise in metabolomics and lipidomics by high resolution mass spectrometry, in the field of:
- Nutrition
- Human health
- Environment and agronomy
BIOMET conducted the largest cross-platform validation test for untargeted metabolomics, the METABORING initiative (free access, doi: 10.1007/s11306-014-0740-0).
BIOMET is ranked in the top 18% of the most publishing structures in the field of metabolomics (source Scholar).
BIOMET has developed a methodology allowing the analysis of more than 830 metabolites and 400-750 types of lipids, with a know-how for statistical analysis and biological interpretation.
BIOMET is also an expert in multi-scale analysis, capable of assembling data sets of different origins (clinical, genomic, phenotypic, imaging, metabolomic).
BIOMET's academic activity is complemented by the business activity carried by CRIBIOM
dedicated to providing services to its private partners, in particular metabolomics.
CRIBIOM is also a platform attached to the STAR Carnot Institute
BIOMET is equipped with 1 low resolution Agilent GCMS, 1 LCMS QTOF microTOFQBruker, 1 LCMS QExactive + Thermo, and has a GC FID for ultra-fast profiling of fatty acids.
